Charming Chapel of Orange Wedding | Jimmy & Rachel
The photos of Jimmy and Rachel’s charming Chapel of Orange wedding captured their day and beautiful personas. They had met Salsa dancing, and their wedding day was a vibrant celebration of these two partners (on and off the dance floor). It was an honor to photograph their day with their loved ones at this historic venue!
The morning began with Rachel and her bridesmaids getting ready for the day’s festivities. They brought the most lovely energy to the bridal suite while getting ready. Rachel looked stunning- eyes sparkling as she stepped into her delicate vintage gown. The bouquets gave way to garden roses with lacey ruffled edges. Jimmy and his groomsmen wore light blue suits. A perfect touch of light blue posy adorned the boutonnieres.
The wedding took place in Old Towne Orange and it’s old-world charm was so endearing. The chapel was the perfect choice for Jimmy and Rachel as they were quickly drawn to the rich history and quaint feel of the Chapel. Old Towne Orange has been dubbed the “Antique Capital of California.
It was an elegant, vintage-inspired wedding with peach floral touches and pops of lace throughout. Other antique elements such as stacks of old, worn books, an old type writer, a silver tea kettle filled with flowers, oil lamps all made for a whimsical a touch that added such warmth to the space.
Wedding guests were welcomed into the beautiful French Garden courtyard of the 1909 Chapel. Standing under the garden pergola laden with sweet vine and floral design, Jimmy and Rachel were married in a heartfelt ceremony with so many touches that truly made their ceremony so unique- from the most precious personal vows shared (both had studied English and focused on American literature and our bride; a writer!) to the symbolic lighting of the unity candle. The ceremony ended with the Jewish tradition of Jimmy breaking the glass. The fragility of glass suggests the frailty of human relationships and the fragile nature of life. It was such a meaningful way to symbolize the shattering of the old and the beginning of the new. A beautiful sentiment I will be sure not to forget.
Later in the day we were able to sneak away and stroll through the sweetest neighborhood, capturing some of my most favorite photos of the day with the white picket fence, playful poses and warm buttery light. Inside the chapel, I captured this beautiful couple in the sunlight as it came pouring through the stained-glass windows -slices of light and warmth in every corner.
There were so many laughs and tender moments listening to Jimmy and Rachel’s family and friends make the most heartfelt speeches about what kind of people they were. I could feel all the love and energy put forward for me to capture. I will also never forget the special relationship Rachel has with her father- even more apparent when he sang to her-there wasn’t a dry eye in the place.
Their three-tier vintage inspired wedding cake and topper made for the sweetest end of the night confection.
The beautiful day was truly a gift!
Jimmy and Rachel, your day was as beautiful and as vibrant as you both are. It was an honor to photograph this special moment in your lives. Wishing you all the happiness in the world as you dance through life together, hand in hand.
