Jimmy and Hannah’s Engagement Session at the San Diego Museum of Art
Jimmy and Hannah’s engagement session at the San Diego Museum of Art and Balboa Park was a beautiful choice to embrace their personality and their love story. Hannah envisioned her engagement session as a Harry and Charlotte-esque affair, referencing the iconic Sex and the City characters. And just like that…if you have followed over the years, you know that the real love story of “Sex in the City” is Charlotte and Harry. Hannah and Jimmy effortlessly embodied this vision with their stylish outfits and playful poses, creating photos that are both modern and timeless. Hannah’s little white dress with the statement bow in the back will live rent free in my head. Along with her gorgeous bow heels. Wait until you see them.
On photo day, it was ideal San Diego weather. We started indoors at the museum and it was during the week. Luckily it was not crowded so it appears in photos as if we had the whole museum to ourselves. They chose the museum for their engagement session because Hannah is a pass holder and they have a mutual appreciation for art.
These silhouette shots will have my heart always. I couldn’t stop.
Hannah’s brilliant blue eyes sparkled with joy and laughter and I feel I was really able to capture that in these shots.
Hannah and Jimmy’s blue and white photo session outfits were absolute perfection. Hannah’s gorgeous baby blues absolutely popped! She chose to wear a lovely woven pearl headband as the perfect accessory.
The second half of the session, we were outdoors and it was slightly overcast, ideal conditions for the best lighting. As a photographer, my goal is to capture moments that are filled with natural light and bring out the best in my couples. I hope to really capture their love and the connection they share but also to get to know them better so that on the wedding day, I am ready to capture those things that I think are uniquely them.
They only had eyes for each other our whole session in San Diego and it only inspired me to look forward to further documenting their amazing connection. 
These two are such a sweet pair and SO much fun to spend time with. I loved walking around the grounds of the museum, taking in the art and wandering around Balboa Park stopping every so often for portraits while hearing all about their wedding plans. After getting to know these two a bit more and learning more about what they have planned for their wedding in March at the La Valencia Hotel, I know their day is going to be a fabulous one! Jimmy is a professional singer and I’ve been informed that he will be serenading Hannah at the wedding. Also, they are having breakfast for dinner served at their wedding, I’m over the moon for that!
