Tickled pink at The Grand Lady Austin a wedding venue in Manor, Texas. Sierra and Chandler’s wedding day at this stunning venue checked all the boxes for an enchanting wedding day.

I am here to write my ode to 2023 and the use of refreshingly vibrant colors of the season. Before we usher in and embrace the latest 2024 Pantone color of the year, “Peach Fuzz,” let us not forget to give a standing ovation to one of the most brilliant colors yet-Viva Magenta and the entire pink color palette. With Viva Magenta being the Pantone color of the year in 2023, along with the wild success of the gorgeous Barbie movie and pink being an anthem color of feminity- it makes you want to celebrate it all.

Many of us wedding professionals were overjoyed to see color trending in every way in the 2023 wedding season, and the pink palette was the perfect color story to propel us into the new year. If the monochromatic aesthetic of wedding style is the “soft smile” of 2023, the vibrant colors are most definitely the open-mouth, total body-exuding joy smile (if you know, you know) We are here for it. As you will see, as my ode unfolds, pink takes center stage in creating a romantic and beautiful atmosphere for our couple at the Grand Lady estate.  Pink is the ultimate color of love and romance!  I love the versatility of this hue— couples can opt for a bright and bold pop with shades like bright pink or fuchsia or embrace a soft and romantic ambiance with an array of lighter pink hues woven into the wedding day design.

Speaking of trends -as a lover of all things historical, the growing 2024 trend of heirloom-infused wedding details brings me joy.  The Grand Lady is a historic mansion located right outside of Austin, Texas. What better place to be than this magnificent wedding venue?

Late last year, I found myself at this breathtaking venue, an 1881 masterpiece originally gifted as a wedding present, nestled among the towering heritage oaks. Already, with those details, you know the venue is going to be a stunner. The history was inspiring in itself, and when I set foot on the grounds, I could feel my excitement grow. What a magical place for a wedding!  In 1911, there was an expansion of the building that added the most opulent Art Deco details, and the undertone of the wedding day was a seamless blend of old and new. It was all pure magic in the making, and these elements gave a sense of dimension and visual appeal that told a story in a way that allowed me to be a bystander and take in every last delicious detail as it revealed itself to me.

The couples’ vision could not have been more fitting for this venue, and the beautiful pink color scheme is one I will never forget.

The carefully restored area preserves its historical allure while incorporating contemporary functionality and stylish furnishings.

This demure, classic bride flirted with the most beautiful hues of pink for her bridesmaids, florals, and other personal design details, and I am drooling over these photos again as I write.

Our bride was a masterpiece, and as soon as I saw her in her gown, it was like watching Grace Kelly float across the sound stage like the romantic princess she was! The frosting on my girly-lovin’ cake was her mother’s heirloom gloves with dainty rose patterns, pearl details, and the bows draped delicately over her shoulders. The classic silhouette of her gown with the heart-shaped corset bodice… each divine detail evoked emotion- which is every photographer’s dream!
