This Pelican Hill family photo session was so much fun! Flying in from Houston, this gorgeous family came to beat the heat and catch some surf before heading back to school. We stayed on property at the Villas and took some updated photos of the kids before the eldest left for college in the fall. This little family chose a color palette that perfectly complemented Pelican Hill’s coastal vibes. You can’t go wrong with light colors and neutrals. The guys donned light blue and white button-down shirts paired with khakis, creating a relaxed yet polished look.  Mother and daughter graced the gardens in flowing white dresses, their look was cohesive and classic.

Pelican Hill is a resort nestled along the rugged coastal hillside of Southern California and there is no lack of natural beauty to showcase. It’s just the perfect backdrop. We walked through the gardens of fig, lavender, pine, 100-year-old olive trees and, 45-foot canary palms. We sat on the old stone steps and leaned against the magnificent architecture that towered over us.  The ocean breeze moved lightly through the gardens.

As a photographer, my goal was to capture the family’s authenticity and let them be themselves. We strolled through the garden’s pathways, capturing playful moments, and genuine laughter in the natural light filtering through the palms and the warm California sun.

This was the perfect opportunity to create some timeless memories for this beautiful family and I was honored to be there with them to capture every moment.
